Engineering your own happiness.

If there is any time in life for you to be intentional about being the architect of your own happiness and joy is now. Over the years now, I have come to realise that depending on people for your happiness is just a gambling game. Sometimes you win, other times you lose. I no longer want to gamble because it cost me a lot. I have come to the point that I have learnt to make myself happy by myself.

I no longer need permission from anyone or anything to be happy. No matter what am going through, I choose not to look like my situation. I have made a conscious decision to look good and be happy.

Do not get me wrong, am not living in denial of issues around me, but rather I have chosen not to allow these issues overwhelm me because, either you like it or not, there will always be issues in life. The issues are no longer the problem for me, my problem now is how I chose to react and respond to such issues.

I cannot flip every time someone upsets me or says a negative thing about me or even accuse me, no way. Time is my hard currency and am not about to waste it on things that do not support or enhance my mental health.

Ever since I came to the realisation of this, am more at peace with me. I live my life without apology. Am more grateful to God and now practise the act of daily gratitude.

I do have some rough days, but I always tell myself is a rough day, not a rough life. You might be reading this and saying, but Queen, you do not know what am going through. That is very correct, on the other hand, you do not know what tomorrow has in stock for you? So, there’s hope, but you need to have the right mindset for hope to work for you.

If you are the type that is always moody and upset about what Tom, Jerry or Karen did to you, trust me, you will miss any glimpse of hope coming your way.

One more thing I discovered recently is this, being able to be happy intentionally is such a great power. When am happy, am telling everything around that seems not to be working on my terms that they cannot hold me down. When am happy, I think better, I function better and am a blessing to all around me.

So, tell me, why do you want to hang your happiness on something or someone? Please do not because the price of doing that is so expensive. Learn to be happy and joyful by yourself, it is good for your mental health and good for your soul.

Sending you lots of love and hugs.

Catch you on the next blog.
